Stage 2 of Idaho Reopen
Little stated that Idaho has done as well as any state and that President Trump has actually thanked us and recognized Idaho for our success in battling back the virus.
Little said in his address that "If we continue to be diligent about washing our hands, limiting exposure to others, and wearing face masks, we control the outcome, we control our ability to make consumers and employees confident about getting back to work and visiting places of business," The governor also said that, "95% of all businesses in the state will be able to open their doors starting this Saturday."
Beginning on Saturday, 5/16/2020 and continuing thru 5/29/2020, restrictions will be lifted on restaurant indoor dining, hair salons, and indoor gyms and recreation facilities. However, in spite of these changes, social distancing requirements will continue. Restaurants have to limit seating capacity to 50% and salons and other businesses will be required to mitigate exposure under certain guidelines. Little further announced an additional change to his four-staged approach in that bars can reopen on May 30, which is in the 3rd Stage, instead of waiting until June 13, the start of Stage 4.
"I wanted to give everybody as much certainty as we possibly can. And that's a good reason, and to be real accurate about it, it's a little hard to determine the difference between a restaurant and a bar," Little said.
So , while we have good reason to celebrate here in Idaho, we need to be diligent and continue to do those things that have gotten us this far. We are too close to the finish line to quit now. so continue to:
- Wash your hands regularly and certainly any time you have been out and exposed
- Wear a face mask regularly when in businesses and stores
- Use hand sanitizer
- Wear disposable gloves
- Don't gather in large groups
- Maintain 6' distancing
. . . because it is the right thing to do and we are all depending on each other to do their part. Should Stage 2 prove successful, then on 5/30/2020 STAGE 3 may begin.
